🇲🇽 Mexico (Cancún / Quintana Roo)

• Passport: Required; should be valid for at least 6 months.

• Visa: Not required for most US, Canadian, and EU passport holders for short stays.

• Tourist Card (FMM): May be required — airline usually provides.

• Visitax (Tourism Tax):

  • Mandatory for all foreign visitors to Quintana Roo (includes Cancún, Tulum, Playa del Carmen).

  • Approx. MXN 283 (~$15 USD).

  • Pay online at visitax.gob.mx; proof (QR code) required.

• Environmental/Sanitation Tax:

  • Charged per room per night by hotels.

  • Varies by municipality (e.g., MXN 67.35 in Cancún).

  • Paid directly at hotel check-in or check-out.

🇨🇺 Cuba

• Passport: Required; should be valid for entire stay.

• Tourist Card (Visa): Mandatory for most travelers. Must be purchased prior to departure or via airline.

• Medical Insurance:

  • Mandatory for all travelers.

  • Must cover Cuba specifically.

  • Proof required at entry.

  • If not shown, traveler may be required to purchase Cuban insurance on arrival.

• Resort/Hotel Tax: Not typically charged separately.

• Departure Tax: Previously required; now included in airfare for most carriers.

🇩🇴 Dominican Republic

• Passport: Required; should be valid for duration of stay.

• Visa: Not required for most US, Canadian, and EU citizens.

• e-Ticket Form:

  • Required for entry and exit.

  • Complete online: eticket.migracion.gob.do

• Tourist Tax:

  • Usually included in airfare.

  • Additional resort tax not typically applied, but confirm with hotel.

🇯🇲 Jamaica

• Passport: Required.

• Visa: Not required for most nationalities (US, CA, UK, EU) for stays up to 90 days.

• Yellow Fever Vaccination: Required if arriving from a high-risk country.

• Resort/Hotel Tax: May be included in hotel bill as a local occupancy or accommodation tax (varies by region).

• Passport:

  • Must be issued within last 10 years and valid for at least 3 months beyond stay.

• Visa:

  • Not required for tourism stays under 90 days in any 180-day period for many countries.

• Upcoming Requirements:

  • ETIAS (Electronic Travel Authorization) expected to begin late 2025.

• Hotel/Resort Taxes:

  • Common in many cities (e.g., Paris, Rome, Barcelona).

  • Charged per person, per night — paid directly at hotel.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom

• Passport: Required; valid for entire stay.

• Visa: Not required for short tourist visits (up to 6 months) for US, CA, EU, and others.

• Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA):

  • Phased introduction for visa-exempt nationals.

  • Required before travel for some nationalities — check eligibility.

• Hotel/Resort Taxes:

  • Not standard; may vary by local region or hotel.
